Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in running a clean, organized store focused on customer satisfaction. You will supervise staff, assist with merchandising, deposits, and paperwork while protecting assets and reducing losses.

Responsibilities include leading customer service, opening/closing the store several days weekly, scheduling/training staff, managing inventory, and ensuring planograms and cash controls are followed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to operate cash register and scanners.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate cash register/scanner.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling, training and safety meetings; ensure policy adherence.
• Follow processes for receiving, stocking, restocking and displaying merchandise.
• Maintain accurate inventory by controlling damages, markdowns and losses.
• Assist with planograms and ensure displays follow established practices.
• Ensure cashier accountability, cash handling, deposits, refunds and overrides.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
