Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager's direction, you will assist with supervising store employees, merchandising, paperwork, and deposits, while protecting assets and reducing losses.

You will lead customer service, open/close the store several days, train staff, manage stock and rotate merchandise, and ensure cashier accuracy and planogram compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, restocking, and displays.
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory by controlling damages and markdowns and by scanning and paperwork.
• Assist with planograms and ensure merchandise presentation follows established practices.
• Ensure cashier accountability and cash control; manage refunds and deposits per policy.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
