Job summary

Dollar General Corporation seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus, under direction of the Store Manager. You will assist with supervision of staff, merchandising, deposits, and paperwork.

This role includes leading customer service, opening/closing, scheduling, training, planograms, inventory control, and cash handling to protect assets and maximize profitability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (strongly preferred).
• Experience in a retail environment and supervisory experience is a plus.
• Strong customer service, cash handling, and inventory awareness are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling employees, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, restocking, and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control damages and markdowns.
• Support planograms implementation and store presentation.
• Ensure cash handling integrity, refunds, overrides, and deposits.
• Assist in managing store in Store Manager's absence.
