Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to keep a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist the Store Manager with supervising staff, merchandising, and deposits, while stocking and cashiering to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

This role requires strong communication, organization and cash handling skills; you will open/close the store several days, train employees, manage planograms, and support operations in the manager's absence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year retail experience and 6 months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, and safety meetings for employees.
• Follow processes for stocking, receiving, and merchandising.
• Maintain accurate inventory and execute planograms as directed.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability and deposits.
• Assist in managing the store in the Store Manager's absence.
