Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a fast-paced store with a customer-first focus. You will supervise staff, manage cash handling, and ensure accurate merchandising and inventory control.

You will help with scheduling, training, safety, and planogram execution while maintaining financial integrity and deposit procedures. This role supports the Store Manager and requires strong leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Experience in a retail environment and supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to operate cash register and processing transactions.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposits.
• Strong reading and mathematical calculation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week and supervise staff as needed.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy adherence.
• Maintain planograms, stock, restock displays, and rotate merchandise.
• Help manage inventory, prevent damages, and participate in bank deposits.
• Support store management in the manager's absence.
