Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development at our Opp, AL location. You will support daily store activities, assist customers, and help manage merchandise flow from delivery to floor, while maintaining promotional displays.

You will participate in opening/closing procedures, follow corporate directives, and help supervise and train store associates, ensuring a safe, friendly environment and high standards of cleanliness

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks including frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional displays and storefront fixtures
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash handling), and loss prevention
• Maintain well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure associates follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop store associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Maintain cleanliness of the store including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation
• Other duties as assigned
