Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-first store, supervise staff, handle merchandise presentation, and manage cash deposits. You will assist with scheduling, training, planograms, inventory, and loss prevention while maintaining financial integrity and a positive shopping experience.

Responsibilities include opening/closing the store, ensuring policy compliance, and supporting the Store Manager in daily operations and customer care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and cash handling abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate the cash register.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise stocking, displays, and planograms per standard.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and conduct deposits with cash controls.
• Support store leadership in the absence of the Store Manager.
