Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help keep a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist the Store Manager with supervision of staff, merchandise presentation, and daily paperwork while protecting assets and reducing losses.

You will also perform stocking and cashiering duties, open and close the store, support scheduling, training, safety meetings, and ensure adherence to company policies to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in retail and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to perform cash register functions and generate reports.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, and safety meetings for employees.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Support inventory accuracy and loss prevention efforts.
• Assist with planograms and merchandise presentation.
