Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, customer-first store and supervise employees under the Store Manager. You will handle stocking, cashier duties, and deposits while maximizing profitability and safeguarding assets.

You will assist with scheduling, training, planograms, and adherence to policies. This role emphasizes leadership, inventory control, and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment.
• Six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service leadership; greet customers and operate the cash register.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling and training of employees; conduct safety meetings and ensure policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, rotating, and displaying according to planograms.
• Help maintain accurate inventory; control damages, markdowns, scans, and paperwork.
• Safeguard cash handling with cashier accountability and deposits; assist with refunds and overrides.
• Assist in store management during Store Manager's absence.
