The Assistant Team Leader provides leadership for the successful operation of the entire front‑end of the store. Ollie’s Assistant Team Leader helps lead a retail sales team that’s passionate about selling merchandise and ensures a good customer experience. Responsibilities include Associate development, customer service, asset protection, and store maintenance.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Team Leader with managing payroll, budgets, expenses, store banking, shrink reduction, and related reports to meet financial and operational goals.
• Ensure that store standards, Redbook compliance, and company programs meet operational expectations.
• Maintain front‑end, entrance, and exterior of the building.
• Assign daily tasks to Associates and ensure productivity.
• Organize and maintain office areas.
• Support the Door to Floor process and merchandising initiatives.
• Complete monthly Operational Risk Assessment (ORA) and alarm test; ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Lead monthly safety meetings with Associates and assess changes from the meetings.
• Maintain customer service standards.
• Handle price changes as required by the company.
• Coach, train, develop, evaluate, supervise, and schedule store Associates.
• Perform Team Leader functions to open and close the store as needed.
• Lead Associates on donation programs and Ollie’s Army sign‑ups and memberships.
• Hire, recruit, interview, select, and onboard new candidates to meet staffing needs.
• Perform any additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of retail supervisory experience in a mid‑size to large retail or service‑oriented business.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays on a regular basis.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
