Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear is seeking an Assistant Manager for our Mount Sterling, KY store. You will assist the Store Manager in daily operations, customer service, merchandising, and store policies while gaining knowledge of each department.

Your role includes supervisory duties in the Store Manager’s absence and helping with staffing and training. You will promote merchandise, protect company assets, and ensure profitability across departments.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
• Self-starter, initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with precision.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling the assets of the store and executing action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Assume responsibility of the entire store in the Store Manager’s absence.
• Consult with the Store Manager to establish action plans for departmental and store responsibilities.
• Assist in overall personnel recruiting, training, and evaluation.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers across departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to support profitability.
• Direct staff to fulfill department responsibilities and standards.
• Keep the Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
• Ensure quality customer service is maintained and documented.
• Perform general administrative duties and support Store Manager responsibilities.
• Deliver extraordinary customer service and promote services/merchandise.
