Job summary

The Hibbett I City Gear Petersburg, VA is seeking an Assistant Manager who supports the Store Manager in daily operations, customer service, merchandising, and admin tasks. The role requires product knowledge across departments and leadership in the Manager's absence.

You will oversee staff, supervise scheduling, assist in recruiting/training, monitor inventory and sales, and uphold company policies to ensure profitability and excellent customer service during peak periods.

Qualifications

• Experience in a retail environment; footwear/apparel preferred.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in controlling assets of Hibbett I City Gear.
• Consult with Store Manager to set action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Assume responsibility of the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Assist in overall personnel recruiting, training, and evaluation.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
• Direct staff to ensure department responsibilities and standards are met.
• Keep Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
• Deliver extraordinary customer service and promote services and merchandise.
• Uphold company policies and internal controls; report potential fraud risk.
