Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Grand Ledge, MI to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, merchandise flow, payroll and scheduling, and loss prevention while upholding company policies and safety standards.

The role emphasizes strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to lead and train store associates in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred and employees must read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as part of the role.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep the store clean, restocked, and presentable.
• Other duties as assigned.
