Job summary

Kimbrell’s Furniture seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations, credit functions, and team performance. You will drive operational excellence, ensure credit compliance, and develop team members while delivering outstanding customer service.

This role emphasizes accountability, professionalism, and a positive, results-driven store environment with opportunities for advancement and hands-on merchandising support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
• Experience in retail or related leadership role preferred
• Experience with sales, customer service, and/or credit or collections processes preferred
• Ability to handle cash and basic financial transactions
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate company vehicles when required
• Bilingual English/Spanish may be a plus depending on staffing

Responsibilities

• Support overall store operations in line with company policies and performance expectations
• Lead, coach, and develop team to achieve operational, sales, and customer service goals
• Provide performance feedback and assist with employee relations and disciplinary actions
• Supervise store operations and staff in the absence of the Store Manager
• Ensure high-quality customer experience through professional service and showroom presentation
• Assist with showroom organization, product placement, and merchandising displays
• Drive sales growth through customer engagement and promotions
• Support sales activities and ensure team execution of the sales model
• Oversee credit and collection processes in compliance with policies and laws
• Assist with customer account management, contract negotiation, and documentation accuracy
• Maintain financial controls including cash handling, payments, deposits, and recordkeeping
• Ensure proper handling of customer information under privacy regulations
• Support administrative functions, reporting, and daily store organization
• Maintain a safe, organized work environment and assist with light merchandise handling
• Perform other duties as assigned
