Job summary

GPM Investments, LLC is seeking an Assistant Manager for our Ashland, VA area store. You will support the Store Manager with daily operations, run the register, and coach a team to deliver excellent customer service while driving sales.

Expect open availability, including weekends and holidays, and growth into store leadership. The role emphasizes strong cash handling, inventory, and staff scheduling in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Open availability for weekends and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license, access to a personal vehicle, and proof of insurance.
• Physical ability to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Minimum age of 21+ years.
• Fluent English with basic math skills.
• Willing to learn.
• Food Safety Certification required or able to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in day-to-day operations.
• Run the register and assist customers with speed, accuracy, and a great attitude.
• Coach and motivate team members to upsell products and promotions.
• Help hire, train, and lead a high-performing team focused on customer service and store success.
• Step in as acting manager when the Store Manager is off.
• Handle inventory, ordering, and merchandising to keep the store fully stocked.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming store including restrooms and fuel pumps.
• Create and manage team schedules for full coverage.
• Perform daily cash handling, deposits, and oversee store financials.
• Provide feedback and leadership to motivate the team to excel.
• Other duties as assigned
