Job summary

Dollar Tree in Monroe, MI is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities and help supervise and train Store Associates to maintain a high-energy, guest-focused environment.

The role requires strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on safety, loss prevention, and adherence to company policies. A high school diploma and store experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail is preferred
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and stand for long periods
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process corporate directives related to store activities
• Maintain promotional storefront fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure all assets, including cash
• Ensure policies and safety guidelines are followed
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a safe, respectful environment for customers and staff
• Keep bathrooms and floors clean and stocked
• Other duties as assigned
