Job summary

Dollar Tree in Elkton, MD seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, support customer service, and develop the team. You will assist with merchandise, staffing, safety, and loss prevention while ensuring a clean, welcoming shopping environment.

The role requires initiative, communication, and a hands-on approach to coaching Store Associates. This position is part-time, with responsibilities including opening/closing, scheduling, and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred; ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent physical tasks
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store operations and day-to-day activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor
• Open and close procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and store communications
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Maintain cleanliness of the store including restrooms and floors
• Other duties as assigned
