Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Waldorf, MD seeks an Assistant Store Manager to assist with store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help manage day-to-day activities, organize merchandise from delivery to floor, and support opening and closing procedures.

You’ll train and supervise store associates, uphold company policies, protect assets, and ensure a safe, friendly shopping environment. Prior retail management experience is preferred; strong communication and problem-solving

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and interpret operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing and pulling.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Organize merchandising from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling, and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure all store assets, including cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise and develop Store Associates
• Ensure a positive, safe environment with professional interactions
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat areas
• Other duties as assigned
