Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Chesapeake, VA to support store operations, customer service, and team development.

You will assist with opening/closing duties, merchandising, and implementing corporate directives while ensuring safety and excellent guest experiences. You will help supervise and train Store Associates, maintain orderly stockrooms and sales floors, and protect store assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays and ensure store standards.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling/cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; train and supervise Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
