Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear in Palestine, TX is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations and administrative duties. You will apply knowledge of each product area, uphold company policies, and promote merchandise while delivering outstanding customer service.

In this role you will assume supervision in the Store Manager's absence, assist in recruiting, training, and evaluating staff, and help drive profitability across all departments.

Qualifications

• Retail experience, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1–3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage a team and meet goals and profits.
• Self-starter with initiative.
• Strong attention to detail with multitasking.
• Team-player with passion for customer service and selling merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling assets.
• Develop action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Handle store coverage in the Store Manager's absence.
• Assist in personnel recruiting, training, and evaluation.
• Provide guidance to employees and customers in all departments when necessary.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
• Direct staff to meet each department’s responsibilities and standards.
• Keep the Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
• Maintain extraordinary customer service per manuals.
• Promote and sell services and merchandise provided by Hibbett I City Gear.
