Job summary

Cavender’s is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Lafayette, LA to support the Store Management Team in driving sales, coaching associates, and overseeing daily store operations. Responsibilities include opening/closing, ensuring customer satisfaction, and enforcing company policies while promoting a safe and well‑run store environment.

The role requires driving results, strong leadership, and the ability to train staff across cashier, sales, and key positions.

Qualifications

Proven ability to sell product and manage a retail department.
Proven ability to drive results, develop talent, excel in customer service and exercise sound decision making.

Responsibilities

Support Cavender’s culture and drive mission, vision, and values.
Maintain active role in personal selling and meet/exceed sales per hour goals.
Train all associate positions in the store and act as Manager on Duty as assigned.
Open and close store and address customer complaints.
Handle returns and exchanges and supervise store associates.
Increase sales, maintain profit, and reduce controllable expenses using key metrics.
Lead training on sales techniques, product knowledge, and company expectations.
Ensure safety and security, report incidents, and maintain proper records.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and participate in Loss Prevention.
