Hibbett I City Gear is seeking an Assistant Manager in Clovis, NM. The role supports the Store Manager in daily operations, merchandising, and customer service, with duties across selling, restocking, and scheduling in a fast-paced store environment.

Ideal candidates bring 1–3 years of customer service experience, strong communication and leadership skills, and a passion for merchandise and store performance. The position reports to the Store Manager and is non-exempt/hourly.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
• Is a self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Assume responsibility of the entire store in the Store Manager’s absence.
• Assist in recruiting, training, and evaluation of personnel.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
• Direct staff to meet department responsibilities and standards.
