J.Crew is seeking an Assistant Manager in New York to lead daily store operations, coach the sales team, and strengthen brand loyalty through genuine customer connections. You’ll help drive profitability by aligning with the leadership team and delivering exceptional service and store performance.

You’ll oversee divisions like visual merchandising, operations, HR, and selling, recruit and train staff, and ensure a collaborative, high-energy environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of retail management experience.
• Passion for supporting brand, customers and teams.
• Stay current with fashion trends and industry developments.
• Strong teamwork, flexibility and courtesy.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability.
• Scheduling flexibility including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support Store Director & Associate Store Manager to impact results and profitability.
• Own your division of responsibility (Visual Merchandising, Operations, HR, Service & Selling).
• Manage store operations, systems, and technology with accountability.
• Assist Store Director & Associate Store Manager with recruiting, training and development efforts.
• Partner with Store Director and Associate Store Manager to curate a collaborative working environment.
• Ensure the team is always on track to exceed goals and provide best-in-class customer service.
• Lead fit sessions that boost product knowledge for associates.
• Develop innovative ways to engage the community and build loyalty through events.
• Step into a variety of roles on the sales floor, if needed.
