Job summary

Family Dollar in Hazel Crest, IL is seeking an entry-level full-time team member to support daily store operations and assist customers with a friendly, professional approach.

You will help organize merchandise, process directives, and ensure displays and stockrooms stay clean and well-stocked. A high school diploma is preferred, with strong communication and teamwork skills essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform related physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping and loss prevention.
• Maintain well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and ensure staff follow policies and procedures.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
