Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. The role includes assisting with daily activities, organizing merchandise from delivery to floor and maintaining clean, compliant store environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store is preferred.
• Must lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Provide positive, helpful customer service and address questions or concerns.
• Organize merchandise from delivery to stockroom and floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, handling damaged goods, payroll/scheduling, and cash handling.
• Keep store areas clean, stocked, and organized per standards.
• Protect company assets and ensure policies and safety procedures are followed.
• Support Store Manager in training and development of store associates.
