Gillman Home Center is seeking an Assistant Manager for the Shelbyville, IN store. You will support the Store Manager in daily operations, supervise store and yard staff, train team members, and ensure excellent customer service.

The role involves inventory management, merchandising, safety, and administrative duties including payroll and reports. A strong retail background and supervisory experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of Retail experience, preferably hardware/lumber.
• Experience supervising employees is a plus.
• Management experience is a plus.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers in a positive, approachable manner.
• Assist Store Manager with operations and training.
• Supervise and develop store and lumber yard team members.
• Manage inventory and merchandising to optimize stock turns.
• Handle administrative tasks: payroll, scheduling, deposits, etc.
