Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist with supervising staff, merchandising, deposits, and overall store performance under the Store Manager's direction.

Responsibilities include leading customer service, scheduling and training, merchandising, inventory control, and cash handling to protect assets and maximize profitability in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to manage merchandise, cash handling, and deposits.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and training.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise, restocking, and planograms.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and cash control, including deposits.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
