Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California is seeking an Assistant Manager for the College Outlet Store Retail team in San Diego. You will lead daily store operations, supervise staff and Beneficiaries, and ensure exceptional customer and donor service while driving sales.

You must have a high school diploma, at least 2 years of retail management, and a valid driver's license. Proficiency with MS Office and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years previous Retail Management/Supervisory experience (thrift preferred).
• Basic understanding of office applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Must hold a valid Driver's license, able to pass MVR report (required), able to show proof of insurance and have access to a motor vehicle.
• Must pass background check, which will include Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, store employees, customers and donors.
• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Store Manager on day-to-day store operations.
• Monitor operations, payroll, and cash handling when Store Manager is absent.
• Drive store sales and profitability through KPI analysis.
• Supervise Beneficiaries and coordinate with program staff.
• Ensure customer and donor satisfaction with excellent service.
