Summary

Supervises and oversees the daily operational needs of the Cache Creek Casino Resort Retail Department in the Gift Shop, Mini Mart, Extra’s, and Golf Pro Shop. Responsibilities include scheduling staff, ordering supplies, inventory control, and merchandising. Provides an interactive shopping experience for guests while ensuring the delivery of extraordinary guest service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage shift operations including assigning workstations and breaks, coaching, counseling, and scheduling staff.
  • Promote a positive work environment.
  • Operate the Point of Sale System and run daily reports.
  • Perform duties of staff positions as needed.
  • Conduct monthly inventory of retail products.
  • Ensure efficient shift and break scheduling based on business volume.
  • Coordinate with buyers on merchandise re-orders and customer requests.
  • Maintain store cleanliness and organization.
  • Manage downtime activities to keep staff productive.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels and replenishment processes.
  • Select and organize items based on brand, retail range, theme, and space.
  • Attain required certifications (TIPS and ServSafe).
  • Resolve guest complaints effectively.
  • Encourage autonomy and good judgment among staff.
  • Foster collaboration and a positive attitude within the team and with vendors.
  • Demonstrate motivation, energy, and initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Exhibit excellent time management, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and conduct.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervise employees in Retail Operations, including training, assigning work, evaluating performance, and handling disciplinary issues in accordance with policies and laws.

Qualifications

Must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily with or without accommodations. Requirements include:

Education and/or Experience

At least one year of customer service or retail experience, or a related degree, including cash handling and POS experience. Leadership experience as a key holder is required.

Language Skills

Ability to interpret business documents, write reports, and communicate effectively with managers, clients, and the public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to perform basic calculations related to discounts, interest, proportions, and measurements.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to analyze problems, collect data, and interpret instructions.

Age Requirement

Must be at least 21 years old.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Tribal Gaming License, ServSafe Certification, TIPS Certificate.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to stand, walk, handle objects, reach, and talk. Occasionally lift up to 100 pounds. Vision and sensory abilities required for the role.

Work Environment

Exposure to tobacco smoke, humidity, fumes, outdoor conditions, and other environmental factors. Moderate noise levels.
