Job summary

Macy's in the United States is seeking an experienced Asset Protection Captain to lead store security efforts, coach teammates, and protect assets through investigations and loss-prevention programs.

You will partner with store leadership and local law enforcement, supervise AP colleagues, create incident reports, and help maintain a safe, customer-focused shopping environment while supporting store profitability.

Qualifications

• Experience training, coaching, or supervising others in a retail, security, asset protection, or related environment.
• Ability to identify, investigate, and respond to theft, fraud, safety, and policy-related incidents.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn company policies and legal requirements related to apprehensions, searches, seizures, and evidence preservation.
• Ability to complete required security training and maintain certifications required by law.
• Ability to apprehend shoplifters and respond appropriately to incidents in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and support Asset Protection colleagues in theft prevention, investigations, apprehensions, and standards.
• Partner with store leadership to support a safe, secure, and customer-focused environment.
• Use surveillance, alarm, reporting, and computer systems to monitor activity and document incidents.
• Respond to customer and colleague incidents, including first aid and safety concerns.
• Create clear, timely reports for theft, merchandise recoveries, and investigations.
