Job summary

Macy's is seeking an Asset Protection Captain to train, educate, and supervise staff in detecting and preventing theft across our stores. You will lead loss prevention programs, coordinate with store leadership, and help ensure a secure environment while delivering excellent customer service.

This role requires strong interpersonal skills, prior security experience, and the ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years related experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Select, train, develop, and supervise Asset Protection / Loss Prevention staff on detecting and preventing theft of company property.
• Develop, implement, and communicate programs to prevent theft amongst customers and employees.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training including computer, surveillance, and alarm systems.
• Respond to incidents to facilitate first aid and minimize company liability.
• Recover stolen merchandise and apprehend shoplifters who commit fraud or other criminal acts.
• Investigate criminal violations on company premises and prepare reports on incidents.
• Maintain compliance with laws and company policies regarding apprehensions and evidence.
• Conduct audits to ensure store compliance with merchandise exposure standards.
• Develop relationships with local law enforcement for coordination on cases.
• Testify in court as required; perform other duties and attend trainings as needed.
