Job summary

Gap seeks an Asset Protection Service Representative to help create a safe, welcoming environment in our stores across our brand family. You will deter theft, protect people and products, and support positive customer experiences on the sales floor and at store entrances.

The role emphasizes vigilance, strong communication, and teamwork to protect our brand and ensure a secure shopping environment for both customers and employees.

Qualifications

• Strong observational skills in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Ability to stay calm, professional, and customer-focused in high-pressure situations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities with customers and team members.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a strong, visible presence at store entrances and on the sales floor to deter theft and promote safety.
• Greet customers warmly and offer assistance while remaining vigilant for safety concerns.
• Monitor behavior and store activity to identify suspicious actions and report to leadership or Asset Protection partners.
• Assist store teams during escalated situations with calm, observant support.
• Support Asset Protection Coordinators during external theft incidents by documenting events per policy.
• Regularly check physical security systems and report issues promptly.
• Share safety and loss-related information with store teams to raise awareness.
