Job summary

Sysco is seeking an Account Executive to manage and grow relationships with our mass-market retail customers, including grocery retailers, in Laurel, MD on-site with travel to local and nationwide accounts. Focus on expanding share of wallet and driving sales to meet company goals.

The role involves coordinating with FreshPoint CMU HOME, using Sysco360 CRM and Tableau for data-driven decisions, and delivering value through product knowledge and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of marketing principles, product lines, ordering procedures and credit terms.
• Ability to manage end-to-end initiatives through challenging deadlines.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills; able to service multiple customers simultaneously.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and related office tools.
• Stay current on FreshPoint technologies (GoFreshPoint, e-Commerce, Tableau, 360).

Responsibilities

• Account management: daily contact for customers, handle inquiries, ensure compliance and satisfaction.
• Increase share of wallet through face-time, market trends, product ideation, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Manage activities from FreshPoint CMU HOME team including order guides, LTOs, and alerts.
• Use Sysco360 CRM for account management, opportunity tracking, and data maintenance.
• Participate in ongoing training for Sysco360, Tableau, and related tools.

Job description

Position Purpose:

This Account Executive will manage and grow relationships with our existing mass-market retail customers, including grocery retailers, while also developing new accounts. This is an onsite position in Laurel, MD with travel to customers locally and nationwide (travel expenses are covered). The focus is to help FreshPoint customers succeed while achieving sales and profit goals established by the company.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Account Management: Day to Day contact for Customer: Customer & Order Inquiries, Manage Customers to MDA Compliance & Ensure Customer Satisfaction; Build out customer call plan and execute against company expectations.
• Increase Share of Wallet with Existing Customers via: Face-time with Customer to identify customer desires/goals, evaluate market trends and recommend products to customers; work with specialists/brokers for product ideation; share information and knowledge with customers as part of value-added service; answer customer’s questions about products, prices, availability and product uses; provide product information and practical training to customer personnel.
• Manage activities initiated by FreshPoint CMU HOME team including maintaining customer order guides, LTOs, Red Alerts, etc.
• Sysco 360: utilize the CRM tool for account management, opportunity tracking, task management, logging and maintaining key customer data: contact information, prospective customer, wins, promotions, future business reviews, etc.
• Ongoing Training: Sysco360, Tableau Reporting, Penetration Tools, etc.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company insurability standards. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality or Culinary Arts preferred.

Experience:

• Preferred 3+ years prior foodservice sales, B2B experience, restaurant management or culinary background.

Skills:

• Knowledge of marketing principles, product lines, ordering procedures and credit terms.
• Ability to manage end to end initiatives through challenging deadlines.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills, including the ability to service multiple customers simultaneously; Able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite of applications (Word, Excel, PPT, etc.).
• Stay current on existing and new FreshPoint technologies (i.e. GoFreshPoint, e-Commerce capabilities, Tableau, 360, etc.) to ensure customers have the latest information.
• Ability to sell, ability to multi task, familiarity with customer service activities and interdepartmental and cross-departmental communications, effectively present information, problem solver.
• Preferred: Demonstrated experience with and working knowledge of FreshPoint customers and sales support best practices.
