Job summary

LHH is seeking a restructuring attorney for sophisticated, high-level work representing diverse stakeholders in complex financial distress matters in Atlanta. The role focuses on domestic and cross-border restructurings, bankruptcy, insolvency, and distressed investments across industries.

You will handle Chapter 11 proceedings, workouts, DIP financings, and related disputes, collaborating with a top-tier team and clients seeking strategic resolutions.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in restructuring, bankruptcy, insolvency, creditors’ rights, or closely related finance and litigation matters.
• Experience handling complex matters involving distressed companies, lenders, investors, creditors, and other stakeholders.
• Strong legal research, analytical, and drafting skills.
• Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
• Stellar academic credentials.
• Prior AmLaw 100 experience preferred.
• Ability to manage significant responsibility across sophisticated matters.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Handle Commercial Chapter 11 proceedings, pleadings, motions, objections, discovery, and court appearances.
• Represent debtors, creditors, lenders, purchasers, sponsors, fiduciaries in restructuring and insolvency matters.
• Out-of-court workouts and restructurings, including forbearance arrangements and loan modifications.
• Distressed acquisitions and dispositions, including Section 363 sales, Article 9 sales, and assignments for the benefit of creditors.
• Debtor-in-possession financings, cash collateral matters, and analysis of loan and perfection documents.
• Commercial loan enforcement litigation, adversary proceedings, receiverships, and other contested insolvency‑related disputes.
• Real estate workouts, foreclosures, deeds in lieu of foreclosure, and distressed real estate transactions.
• Cross-border restructuring and insolvency matters, including Chapter 15 proceedings.
