Job summary

John Grace Restoration and Construction is seeking an Estimator to work with homeowners and insurance adjusters to prepare detailed estimates for restoration projects, including materials, labor and subcontracted work to complete damaged residences.

The role requires 5+ years of Xactimate-based estimator experience, the ability to operate in a high-stress, dynamic environment, and strong time management, independence, and technical skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of restoration estimator experience using Xactimate.
• Able to work in a high-stress, changing environment.
• Excellent time management, delegation, and multitasking skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong technical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of construction and job-site safety.
• Monitor project financials and budget planning.
• Explain technical concepts to homeowners unfamiliar with construction terminology.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors.
• Think creatively and solve problems in real time.
• Motivate teams to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Monthly review of profitability to identify opportunities and efficiencies.
• Work with Project Manager and Owner to ensure appropriate and timely cash collections.
• Ensure company processes are followed consistently.
• Participate in biweekly team meetings and project hand-offs.
• Review completed projects with the General Operations Manager for feedback on efficiency and profitability.
• Strive for highly satisfied customers.
• Ensure all expenditures are charged to job costing.
