Job summary

BELFOR in Livonia, MI is seeking a Level 2 Progressive Carpenter to support reconstruction projects with a focus on carpentry fundamentals, tool usage, and on-the-job training under skilled carpenters.

You will protect contents, assist with framing, insulation, trim, and cabinet work, and maintain equipment while following MSDS safety protocols. Occasional nights, weekends, and travel may be required to meet project timelines.

Qualifications

• Must have fundamentals of carpentry and tool usage.
• On-the-job training (OJT) under experienced carpenters.
• Level 2 on Progressive Carpenter track with supervisory development.
• Familiarity with MSDS protocols for chemicals used during mitigation.
• Strong attention to detail and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Take direction from experienced carpenter and supervisor.
• Move and protect contents without damage.
• Construct containment for dust, dirt, and contaminants.
• Use BELFOR methods for floodcutting, salvaging, and labeling baseboards/cabinets/doors.
• Develop material knowledge for trims, doors, cabinetry.
• Develop proficiency in installing insulation.
• Develop under supervision knowledge of framing, trim, and cabinetry installation.
• Learn to 'dry-in' a building for roofing material installation.
• Perform daily vehicle safety and maintenance inspections.
• Meet BELFOR safety standards and safeguarding requirements.
• Work nights and weekends as required; travel periodically.
