Job summary

BELFOR USA in Ann Arbor is seeking a Level 2 Progressive Carpenter to provide on-site reconstruction support and learn under experienced carpenters. You will progress through development levels and gain proficiency with framing, trim installation, and insulation tasks.

Responsibilities include coordinating a small crew, protecting contents, using BELFOR methods for floodcutting, and maintaining equipment. Some travel and training may be required.

Qualifications

• Basic carpentry knowledge and tools usage.
• Willingness to learn on the job from experienced carpenters.
• Ability to travel periodically and work nights/weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Take direction from experienced carpenter and supervisor.
• Move and protect contents without damage.
• Construct containment for dust, dirt and contaminants.
• Use BELFOR methods for floodcutting, salvaging, and labeling.
• Develop material knowledge for trims, doors, cabinetry.
• Install insulation under supervision.
• Learn framing, trim, and cabinetry installation under supervision.
• Develop knowledge to "dry-in" roofing materials.
• Understand MSDS protocols for chemicals used.
• Perform daily vehicle safety and maintenance checks.
• Meet BELFOR standards and safeguard property.
• Work under time constraints and may travel.
