Job summary

Shangri-La Resort on Monkey Island near Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees in northeast Oklahoma is seeking a Restaurant Supervisor to join our team.

You will assist the Restaurant Manager in daily operations, supervise servers and ensure service, safety, and liquor compliance, while helping train and schedule staff. This role requires strong guest service and flexible availability including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Related experience is preferred but not required.
• Must have ABLE Liquor License.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to maintain professional status through interface with customers, management, and co-workers.
• Must be able to work flexible schedules, including but not limited to extended hours, irregular shifts, evenings, holidays, and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Direct HIW operations and maintain standards of product presentation and service.
• Respond to guest inquiries and coordinate special arrangements and requests with Catering and Meetings & Conventions.
• Monitor servers and bus staff adherence to service standards.
• Supervise service of guests and read signals for service needs.
• Assist manager to establish and monitor side work duty completion.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Assist Restaurant Manager in all phases of restaurant operations to ensure the highest quality standards for food and beverage, service, cleanliness, and maintenance of all operations. Responsible for complete restaurant operation in absence of manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Direct HIW operations and take needed action to ensure standards of product presentation and service are being maintained.
• Respond to guest inquiries and coordinate special arrangements and requests with Catering and Meeting and Conventions.
• Monitor servers and bus person adherence to all service standards.
• Supervise service of guests, being watchful of signals from guests in need of service.
• Assist manager to establish and monitor side work duty completion.
• Maintain bank to Crescent standards.
• Read daily communication sheets from previous shift and prepare one for the following shift. Check floor plan for appropriate coverage.
• Check restaurant for cleanliness and set up. Check service stands and aisle areas. Check tables for cleanliness and proper set up.
• Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate liquor requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.
• Communicate daily with the Restaurant Manager regarding special events, house counts, etc.
• Assist Restaurant Manager in conducting menu classes and taste panels.
• Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear directions to staff.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
• Performs line employees job functions as needed under high volume and emergency situations.
