Job summary

Jamaica Bay Inn, Marina del Rey, is seeking a Restaurant Supervisor to help lead the day-to-day restaurant operation and serve as a bridge between the Food & Beverage management team and hourly staff. You’ll keep service running smoothly, support and develop the team, and ensure guests receive the high level of hospitality we’re known for.

The role requires 2+ years of supervisory experience in a Food & Beverage setting, strong communication, and a passion for guest relations.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in a Food & Beverage or restaurant environment.
  • Server and/or bartender experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage service, guest relations, and service standards.
  • Ability to lead, coach, train, and motivate a team.
  • Strong communication skills with both guests and team members.
  • Ability to take initiative, solve problems, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to prioritize.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day restaurant shifts and help ensure smooth, efficient operations.
  • Communicate department goals, service standards, and performance expectations to the team.
  • Train, coach, and provide constructive feedback to hourly team members.
  • Serve as a resource for team members, helping resolve questions, concerns, and challenges.
  • Ensure the team has the tools, supplies, equipment, and support needed to provide great service.
  • Address guest concerns and requests promptly and professionally.
  • Monitor service quality and look for opportunities to improve the guest experience.
  • Conduct shift briefings and help ensure appropriate shift coverage.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, food safety requirements, OSHA guidelines, and department procedures.
  • Work closely with management to recognize strong performance and build an engaged team.
  • Communicate team and operational updates, challenges, and opportunities to F&B management.
  • Coordinate with other hotel departments to keep operations running efficiently.
  • Perform restaurant service duties as needed and lead by example.
  • Help manage the restaurant in the absence of the Restaurant Manager or Supervisor.
  • Support initiatives designed to improve guest satisfaction and operational performance.

ABOUT THE PROPERTY

Located along the waterfront in Marina del Rey, Jamaica Bay Inn, a Tapestry Collection by Hilton, is a boutique coastal retreat with island-inspired charm and beautiful views of Mother’s Beach and the marina. The newly refreshed hotel features 111 guest rooms and suites, a heated beachfront pool, Beachside Restaurant & Bar, beach cruisers, and opportunities for kayaking and paddleboarding. THE ROLE

As a Restaurant Supervisor, you’ll help lead the day-to-day restaurant operation and serve as a key connection between the Food & Beverage management team and hourly team members. You’ll keep service running smoothly, support and develop the team, and make sure guests receive the high level of care and hospitality we’re known for.

The restaurant runs smoothly, guests receive attentive and consistent service, and team members know what’s expected of them and feel supported in delivering it. You’re a visible, hands-on leader who can step into a busy shift, solve problems, coach the team, and keep both the guest experience and operational standards on track.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in a Food & Beverage or restaurant environment
  • Previous experience as a server and/or bartender preferred
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage service, guest relations, and service standards
  • Ability to lead, coach, train, and motivate a team
  • Strong communication skills with both guests and team members
  • Ability to take initiative, solve problems, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to prioritize
  • Comfortable handling guest concerns and responding quickly to changing needs
  • Knowledge of food safety and responsible alcohol service requirements
  • Food Handler and alcohol awareness certification, or ability to obtain
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred
  • Must be 21+ to handle alcoholic beverages
  • Dependable and flexible with availability, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, and move throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. as needed
