Job summary

Landry's, a leading hospitality company in the United States, seeks a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support accounting close, journal entries, and financial analysis across restaurant locations.

You will maintain ledger accuracy, prepare statements, and assist operations with financial insights, while collaborating with the Accounting Manager and field teams to resolve variances and improve processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and reporting.
• Experience preparing manual journal entries as part of monthly close.
• 1–2 years of accounting experience; hospitality/restaurant a plus.
• Familiarity with ERP systems like Oracle, SAP, or NetSuite.
• Strong communication and Excel skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Team player with good collaboration and listening abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries for expenses reclassifications, accruals, and prepaid items.
• Compile monthly income statements and verify supporting documents for accuracy.
• Review monthly results and investigate variances from trends or reports.
• Maintain organized work papers reflecting balance sheet activity with documentation.
• Provide timely accounting support to Operations team.
• Manage vendor payments to ensure timely processing.
• Keep departmental spreadsheets updated with current data.
• Communicate with Accounting Manager and Operations team about issues at locations.
• Assist on special projects with financial insights and admin support.
