Job summary

Lombardi Family Concepts is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our corporate finance team. This role supports multiple upscale restaurant concepts and collaborates with operations to ensure accurate financial reporting.

You will balance day-to-day accounting with process improvement and cross-department teamwork in a fast-paced, multi-unit environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; experience considered.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience; hospitality/retail/multi-unit preferred.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and general accounting principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient Excel ( Pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP ) and formulas.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Reconcile bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts.
• Analyze financial data and investigate discrepancies for accuracy.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Support sales tax, property tax, and other regulatory filings.
• Collaborate with restaurant management to research variances.
• Prepare reports for leadership to aid financial decision-making.
• Assist with annual audits and provide requested documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Maintain organized financial records with confidentiality and compliance.

Restaurant or hospitality accounting experience is highly preferred, as this role supports multiple upscale restaurant concepts and works closely with operations to ensure accurate financial reporting.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare and maintain monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and other balance sheet accounts
• Analyze financial data and investigate discrepancies to ensure accuracy
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
• Support sales tax, property tax, and other regulatory filings
• Work with restaurant management teams to research operational variances and accounting questions
• Prepare reports for leadership to assist with financial decision-making

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred but previous experience considered
• Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience
• Restaurant, hospitality, retail, or multi-unit accounting experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and formulas
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
• High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Multi-location accounting experience
• Experience with restaurant POS and payroll systems
• Public accounting experience is a plus
• CPA designation or CPA candidate is a plus
