Job summary

The Post Oak is seeking an experienced kitchen leader to join the opening team of a new fine dining concept in Houston. You will help launch a premier dining destination from day one, lead a high‑performing kitchen, and ensure top‑tier service and guest experience.

Ideal candidates bring 3–4 years of progressive leadership in fine dining, strong culinary skills, HACCP knowledge, and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

  • This role requires 3–4 years of progressive kitchen leadership in fine dining.
  • Proven ability to mentor large kitchen teams in fast-paced settings.
  • Advanced culinary skills with seasonal and ingredient-driven cooking.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards.
  • Leadership, communication, time-management and organization are essential.
  • Culinary degree or formal training is a plus; food safety certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Join the opening team and support the launch of a new restaurant concept.
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, cleanliness, organization and safety.
  • Maintain food quality, consistency and plating standards across services.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff to foster a positive, team‑oriented culture.
  • Assist in proper food rotation and storage to minimize waste and control costs.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menus and product innovation.
  • Manage workflow and staffing for high-volume services.
  • Enforce food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standards.
  • Support cross‑department collaboration to ensure guest satisfaction.
