Job summary

Ontario Trillium Foundation is seeking an energetic Shift Leader to help guide our restaurant team and deliver an exceptional guest experience. You’ll support the Restaurant Manager by overseeing daily operations, coaching team members, maintaining brand standards, and ensuring shifts run efficiently.

The ideal candidate is a positive, fast-paced leader who motivates others, provides outstanding customer service, and collaborates with the team to meet quality, safety, and service goals.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Leadership experience in retail, restaurant or hospitality preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate Team Members during each shift.
• Delegate tasks and communicate shift goals and priorities.
• Coach employees with timely, constructive feedback.
• Support onboarding and training of new Team Members.
• Foster a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.
• Perform all Team Member responsibilities as needed.
• Support the Restaurant Manager in achieving operational and sales goals.
• Ensure all food, beverage, and service standards are consistently met.
• Monitor food quality, cleanliness, and overall restaurant appearance.
• Maintain inventory levels and communicate supply needs.
• Complete shift change communication to ensure smooth transitions.
• Deliver exceptional guest service and resolve guest concerns promptly.
• Lead by example with friendly, fast, and accurate service.
• Encourage Team Members to create a welcoming guest experience.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health standards.
• Follow company policies related to safety, security, and loss prevention.
• Manage cash handling procedures and monitor cash over/short during each shift.
• Assist with employee scheduling as assigned.
