Applegreen (US) Welcome Centers in New Jersey seeks an Assistant General Manager to support daily operations and guide entry-level staff. The role focuses on leadership, coaching, and ensuring a smooth customer experience.

You will provide feedback, supervise shifts, uphold brand standards, and assist in cash handling while building strong customer relationships in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Leadership and management experience in hospitality or quick-service environments.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to motivate and guide a team to meet objectives.
• 2+ years in quick-service restaurant or similar management roles.
• Flexible and open work schedule to cover shifts.
• Basic food safety knowledge and practices.
• Willingness to lift/push objects over 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and communicate business objectives clearly.
• Oversee day-to-day supervision of non-management staff, assign work, and coach shift supervisors.
• In the GM's absence, perform duties to maintain operations and service levels.
• Motivate staff during low morale and maintain leadership presence.
• Maintain strong leadership and organizational skills and ensure timely issue resolution.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, brand standards, and procedures.
• Maximize brand, landlord, and labor relations while keeping the restaurant clean and inviting.
• Manage cash handling and daily reporting as required by company directives.
• Address customer needs and resolve issues to foster long-term relationships.
• Maintain inventory accuracy with spot counts and checks.
