Applegreen (US) Welcome Centers is seeking an Assistant General Manager in New Jersey to help the General Manager run daily operations across travel plazas. You will lead store teams, coach supervisors, and ensure top-tier customer service while upholding brand standards and safety practices.

You will oversee cash handling, inventory controls, and guest satisfaction, with opportunities to develop leadership skills and advance within a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Passionate about helping people learn and grow the business.
• Strong leadership and management skills with proven ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Excellent customer service abilities and positive attitude
• Excellent verbal and communication skills with a sharp business acumen
• 2+ Years experience in quick service restaurant or similar management operations
• Flexible and open work schedule
• Basic food safety understanding and practice.
• Ability and willingness to lift/push objects weighing over 30 Lbs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and clearly communicate business objectives.
• Oversee day-to-day supervision of non-management associates, assigning work, and coaching shift supervisors.
• Must be able to perform duties in the absence of the general manager.
• Motivate and positively influence staff, especially during times of low morale.
• Maintain strong leadership and organizational skills and ensure brand standards.
• Ensure cash management is accurate and daily reporting per directives.
• Address customer needs and resolve issues to ensure long-term relationships.
• Keep inventory data accurate with spot counts and checks.
