Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 1–2 years restaurant management experience.
• Hospitality management degree or some college preferred.
• Must speak fluent English; other languages preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with standards of service and operating procedures.
• Supervise day-to-day activities of one or more food and/or beverage outlets or assigned portion of the operation.
• Plan and organize work.
• Communicate and enforce policies and procedures.
• Recommend and/or initiate salary, disciplinary, or other staffing-related actions in accordance with company rules and policies.
• Alert management of potentially serious issues.
• Ensure all staff is properly trained and certified and have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their job functions.
• Ensure guests are greeted upon arrival; respond to guest complaints; establish service recovery guidelines for total guest satisfaction.
• Assist with creating innovative programs and promotions to market special menu items, increase sales, and guest patronage; assist in development and implementation of menus and marketing programs.
• Assist in monitoring performance through guest feedback and financial results; initiate corrective action as needed.
• Maintain procedures for inventory security, storage, money handling, replenishment, and waste control; participate in inventories.
• Aim to meet budgeted revenues, control expenses and labor costs, and maximize profitability; assist in preparing the annual operating budget.
• Ensure restaurant equipment is operational and cleaned regularly.
• Ensure facilities are cleaned, stocked, and ready for anticipated business volumes.
• Coordinate special events scheduled for the venue.
