Job summary

LaCo is a Latin-inspired restaurant with a coastal twist, seeking an Assistant General Manager to oversee all aspects of business and restaurant operations in Seacrest Beach, Florida. You will drive customer satisfaction while assisting the GM with day-to-day tasks using P&L statements and other tools to manage and exceed profit goals.

You will source, hire, coach and motivate staff, maintaining a safe and welcoming work environment and ensuring consistent service quality.

Responsibilities

• Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Spell Restaurant Group.
• Ensure that all restaurant policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs are followed on time.
• Achieve company objectives in sales, service, quality, appearance, and sanitation through staff training and a positive environment.
• Monitor food preparation methods, portion sizes, garnishing and presentation to ensure acceptable quality.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and labor regulations at federal, state, county and municipal levels.
• Control cash and receipts by following cash handling and reconciliation procedures.
• Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality, service, or accommodations.
• Review financial statements, sales reports, or performance data to measure productivity or cost reduction opportunities.
• Schedule and receive food and beverage deliveries, checking content for quality and quantity.
• Monitor budgets and payroll, and review transactions to ensure authorized expenditures.
• Establish standards for personnel performance and customer service.
• Be knowledgeable of restaurant policies regarding personnel.
• Administer prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for violations of company policies.
• Develop staff in managerial and professional development.
• Review work procedures and operational problems to improve service, performance, or safety.
• Source, hire and continually develop team members with training and coaching.
• Review menus and analyze recipes to determine labor and overhead costs and assign prices.
• Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support operations.
• Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
