Job summary

Groot Hospitality is seeking a Restaurant Manager to lead a dining team in a fast-paced environment. You will inspire staff, develop strategies to reduce costs and grow sales, and ensure patrons have a remarkable dining experience. Weekend and holiday work is required due to business needs.

You will hire, train, schedule, evaluate, and discipline staff while maintaining health and safety standards and collaborating with chefs on menu execution.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years in restaurant management.
• Experience resolving customer issues and delivering excellent service.
• Strong time management and prioritization skills.
• Ability to build and foster a team environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication, verbal and non-verbal.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Hires and trains restaurant staff.
• Organizes and oversees staff schedules.
• Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
• Handles discipline and termination of employees per policy.
• Oversees food preparation, ensuring health and hygiene standards.
• Ensures customer satisfaction with all dining aspects.
• Addresses customer complaints in a diplomatic manner.
• Ensures compliance with alcoholic beverage regulations.
• Estimates food and beverage costs.
• Manages inventory and purchases food and supplies.
• Inspects restaurant and equipment for safety and hygiene.
• Schedules equipment service and repairs as needed.
• Collaborates with chefs on menu development.
• Maintains sales records and cash receipts.
• Prepares operations reports for regional manager.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
