Job summary

Groot Hospitality is looking for a Server to be the face of our restaurant, delivering high-quality service and creating exceptional guest experiences. You will be part of a fast-paced, upscale environment where teamwork and guest satisfaction are paramount.

Responsibilities include greeting guests promptly, guiding them through menus, maintaining standards, and ensuring timely course turnover while upholding health and safety guidelines. Weekend and holiday shifts are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages.
• Minimum 2 years in a high-end fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of spirits, wines, beers and cocktails.
• Alcohol Awareness Certification required (e.g., Serv Safe, TIPs).
• Food handling certificate preferred.
• Level 1 Sommelier certificate is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Able to multi-task effectively.
• Attention to detail, cleanliness and safety.
• Patient and customer-oriented approach.
• Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude.
• Responsible and trustworthy.

Responsibilities

• Attend required meetings and trainings.
• Maintain regular attendance in Groot Hospitality standards.
• Full-time availability with a flexible schedule, including evenings, holidays and weekends.
• Maintain a professional appearance and grooming, including proper uniform.
• Follow Health Department food safety standards.
• Complete assigned side-work within set timeframes.
• Have superior knowledge of the food and beverage menu.
• Know the floor plan, table numbers and stations.
• Support productivity and help identify and solve problems.
• Assist in training new employees as required by management.
• Greet tables within 2 minutes and explain dining concepts to guests.
