Job summary

Groot Hospitality is seeking a General Manager to lead a restaurant team, delivering exceptional guest experiences while aligning with company values. You will develop a comprehensive business plan, manage finances, and drive sales through strategic marketing and cost control.

You will supervise staff, ensure health and safety compliance, and foster a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment. Weekend and holiday coverage is required.

Qualifications

• Able to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with customers, team members and management.
• Knowledge of products, services and hours of operation.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn computer software.

Responsibilities

• Create a comprehensive business plan for the restaurant, considering market, competitors, sales revenue and expenses.
• Prepare an accurate portrayal of restaurant finances, including banking, spending, pricing goals and food costs.
• Develop strategies to entice customers through marketing plans and campaigns.
• Analyze the restaurant budget with personnel to price inventory, reduce expenses and adjust purchasing strategies.
• Control operations by implementing policies, standards and appropriate adjustments.
• Ensure an outstanding dining experience by regulating presentation, taste, service and atmosphere for guests.
• Lead a team of employees, establish hiring processes and foster a cohesive unit.
• Follow health code and local food handling requirements and maintain food safety certifications.
